Growers invitation : Community Surplus Veg Sale

We are excited to tell you about a new community food initiative and to invite your participation.

We are holding a Community Surplus Veg Sale as part of our upcoming Annual Open Day and offer you the opportunity as a local food grower to sell or donate your surplus produce, as well as plants, preserves and related items.

 Saturday 20th June 2015

11 am – 3pm

Healing Gardens Cooperative,

73A Tor View Avenue,

Glastonbury BA6 8AG

Bring along your items: bagged, priced and labelled* and we will sell on your behalf, for a 10% donation to our Co-operative. Or, you may choose simply to donate your produce! (*Please indicate if grown without chemicals).

Last year’s open day was very well attended and we are hopeful for a good turn out this year. Our intention is to use the open day to launch the veg sale as a regular, weekly event to be held at Healing Gardens Saturdays throughout the growing season and harvest. We aspire to:

  • Support local growers to make the most of their harvest

  • Strengthen community growing links

  • Meet the demand for and promote access to fresh, affordable local produce

  • Enjoy ourselves and make friends!

We start event promotion after the late May bank holiday via social media and within the local community, and invite you to do the same! We welcome support/participation on the stall on the open day and subsequent sale days.
